Background and Introduction

Academic institutions within Yorkshire and the Humber have a strong reputation for Public Health research both locally and internationally however a large proportion of this work is often done in isolation from the environment in which the evidence generated can be put into practice.  Research that takes place in isolation can often miss the opportunity for this to be actionable or fail to address regional and local public health challenges.

In winter 2018, the Yorkshire and Humber ‘Public Health Research Hub’ agreed to establish a Practice and Research Collaborative (PaRC) with a view to bridging the research into practice gap and to link Academic institutions/Academics with Public Health practitioners.
